This summer, take advantage of complimentary access to national parks, historic landmarks, and marine conservation sites with the newly introduced Canada Strong Pass. Additionally, various Canadian attractions and services, including national museums and VIA Rail services, will be available for free or at reduced prices. This federal program begins on June 20, 2025, and will last until September 2, 2025. Sign up for the Angus Reid Forum to receive $5 in points! Entry for children will be complimentary at all attractions or services included at the participating sites. The Pass is not a tangible or digital card, nor does it necessitate any form of registration or payment; just arrive at any participating site or service to access the automatically granted advantages. This government initiative encourages exploration across Canada and is available to newcomers, temporary residents, and visitors. Eligible individuals can receive these benefits. For those aged 23 and below, VIA Rail tickets are free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Additionally, free admission is provided to national and certain provincial/territorial museums and galleries. Individuals aged 18-24 receive a 25% discount on VIA Rail tickets and similar 25% off for entry to national and participating provincial/territorial museums and galleries. Everyone can enjoy free entry to Parks Canada sites. There is also a 20-month extension available for single-location annual passes for Parks Canada, along with a 20% discount on campsites and lodging. Backcountry day-use fees are waived in Northern Canada, and overnight backcountry fees in northern regions have a 20% discount available. Participating sites may offer guided tour discounts or special rates. Furthermore, free lockage is available at canals along historic waterways managed by Parks Canada, as well as partial refunds for certain pre-purchased or reserved attractions and services. The Canada Strong Pass offers improved access to the natural beauty and cultural experiences throughout Canada. Parks Canada provides free admission to its national parks, historic locations, and marine conservation zones under its management. A 22% discount is available on camping and roofed accommodations during this time. Additionally, there will be no lockage fees at Parks Canada-managed canals on historic waterways during this period.
